About Me

Welcome!  I'm Elisa, founder of Pages and Palms. I'm starting my junior of high school and have lived in sunny Florida since the start of my 4th grade year, 6 years ago. When I moved from Europe with no knowledge of English, I already loved to read. Learning English has only accentuated this love. Not yet 15,  I have already read more than 300 books, and I have no intentions of stopping anytime soon. I have a true passion for literature, and starting this blog allows me to share it with more people than I possibly could otherwise, while hopefully turning more people into bookworms!​ A little bit about me: I love reading, regardless of genre, though I have a preference for all things sci-fi, fantasy, or since more recently, scientific non-fiction. I also try to frequently read in French -my native language- though I prefer to read in English. I also love to document my reading journey, and have kept a "book log" since the start of 2021, when a friend and I decided to compete with ourselves and each other to see whether we could read 100 books in one year. I successfully reached the goal with exactly 100 books, and then did it again in 2022, reading 173 books, which felt absolutely insane. In 2023, I read 50 books, and although I have slowed down some, I am glad I have chosen to focus instead of on the quality of the stories I pick.​ Enough about me, it's time to turn crack a new book open and continue our reading journey together!​
